My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was 8 and have been crocheting ever since. I am now trying to tackle socks. Have been crocheting socks for about 2 months, but I am still having problems adjusting the pattern. I would like to make all my family members a pair of socks for Christmas. I like to use sock yarn like the knitters so they can be worn with shoes. Tried knitting but I never could get comfortable with the double pointed needles. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
I'm dying to learn how to crochet socks- preferable with sock yarn too!!
I'm just starting out on learning to crochet socks and I'm excited!! Be chattin' with ya's soon!!
Happiness is a big ball of yarn and a crochet hook :)
Sorry it has taken so long to reply, computer issues. I have made 2 pair of socks so far with sock yarn and it is great. They are not fancy but they fit. They were a lot of fun to do and a very easy take along project. I was sitting at the Dr. office and before they called me back I have several ladies and 1 very curious little boy ask me about my socks. Makes me feel great.
My class turned out really great - one tip I found useful, if a project has several different areas (such as a sock) do them in different colors. It is easier to visualize the different areas of the project.
I have 2 more classes in November, another sock class and a crochet Christmas class.
