Has anyone made a Philosopher's coat? I found a picture of a sleeve cuff for it here.

There are a couple of people working on it over on Ravelry. I don't know about here.

I couldn't find a listing on Ravelry. There was a knit jacket called Cossack Coat made from Philosopher's Wool. Do you have a link?

I Googled and found it in "Encyclopedia of Crochet". Wow, what a feat!

I have a book with the Philosophers Coat pattern. It is Donna Kooler's The Encyclopedia of Crochet by Leisure Arts.

Thanks for the resource listing. I'll have to see if my local library can get that through inter-lib-loan.

Best,

I made the Philospher's Coat that was seen on www.fishnetcrocheters.com. I made it about 2 years ago --it's a fabulous crocheted project. It has become my winter coat-- it is so thick and heavy that it needs to be really cold out for me to wear it. I live in northern New England, so that is no problem. I know that others have used lighter yarns and a larger hook and ended up with a sweater that isn't so heavy and warm.

If you are working on it and have questions, I'm ShepherdsCrook on Ravelry. I'll be happy to answer questions.
