I found out about this website from Crochet Central Rachel.

I have been searching for a thread beanie pattern, nothing fancy. All I have been able to find is yarn beanie patterns. I tried using a yarn pattern and ended up with a yamulke! Can you point me in the right direction?

Thanks for your comment! I checked it out last night, but I am a beginner so improvisation is out. I might have a second look when I begin, but I really have my heart set on a pattern for thread. Thanks again!

Maybe look for a doily pattern you think would work, and once it's large enough to fit over the top of the head stop increasing on the rounds. Or a really easy pattern would be to do about a 12 inch X 22 inch rectangle in whatever stitch pattern you like, fold it in half and sew the short edges together, and then gather one long edge and sew it closed (a star-pattern whipstitch works well).

Huh? You guys are way advanced. I kinda understand what you wrote, but I need something way basic, the more I search and do not find what I'm looking for, the more I am inclined to actually try my own. With mom's sewing expertise, I actually might get it!
