Hello everyone, just wanted to say hi. I am Tanya from San Diego and I have always loved crochet items and always wanted to give it a go. I tried once back when i was 15ish and boy was that a mess. Then again when I was 19 and I thought it was a blanket and it came out like a place mat or a door mat..lol I still have it too..lol
But now at 28 I have tried again and I have made my FIRST Beanie:) I am soo proud. I made it for my daughter. and now I am hooked,hooked... hooked.. I cant go to the store without walking out with yarn..lol
I will post my picture in the show off area:)

Sandy Lewis Hey! from Charleston SC I'm new to! when I was expecting my son I only knew the loop stitch and that's still all I know, I made a blue, pink and white blacket for my child on the way to keep me busy. Well, it was funy watching it grow and I loved doing it. That so called blanket was a bit bigger than the crib. I can't tell you how very handy it came in to keep him covered when the weather was cold. My son is 29 now. My Mom still has it and when she takes a nap pulls it over her. It's almost 30 years old and I think it's ugly! LOL I'm trying again. I always make clothes have made some purses but too time consuming. My house is for sale so I can't sew, short notice on showings so I started this again. One thing I saw in the videos is how they wrap the threada around the needle before pulling it though, I didn't know it. And I just finished a new unprofessional very big new nap time blanket for mom. It's tan with strips of multi tan/green etc. really looks good, EXCEPT I have to watch the size of my loops. I ened up with one end way wider than the other. I tore it down 2 times and totally apart again. It's still the same but not noticeable unless you are trying to fold it up perfectly. I'm proud of it. After tying ends together and having knots in it, I came to this site to ask about joining thread I was shocked! They said to thread a large needle and run one thread thogh the other for I guess about 5-6 inches so they appear to be never ending. Slows ya down but worth it, I started learning this so I'll be ready to make my grandbaby a blanket, I'm still waiting on the word that there is one in the oven! Good look! Sandy

CROCKET FOR DUMMIE'S Has anyone seen the book or used it? I'm wondering if it's a waste of money or if it really shows detailed steps. It's only $8 with shipping but I would like to know before spending money. It's like the Ped Egg, waisted $10 it's not that great! Thanks
