Hello from Colorado! I love to crochet, but this is my first attempt at crocheting a piece of clothing. I have made many a hat, scarf, bag, and blanket. Does anyone have a suggestion on what would be an easy pattern for a sweater? I love all the sweaters from the book, but they look a little difficult for a first-timer!

mad for crochet!

Hi Beebers31. My brother and his family live in Boulder. I have been to visit them. Wow- the Rockies are so beautiful! I have been meaning to try Sweet http://crochetme.com/sweet

I like the fact that you can try it on as you go to get a good fit .

Sarahcrit is right about making something in a top down construction. It is easier to get a fit you will actually wear if you fit it as you go until you get used to making wearables. You could also try a cardigan like this one:

It is top donw as well and really cute.

I can't wait to see what you make.

Welcome to your new little crochet home!!

Thanks ladies for the suggestions! Love both of the patterns....just a little nervous about starting, that's all.

mad for crochet!Dive right in, Beebers31. The worst that can happen is you will make some mistakes and have to rip out some of your work. If that happens, you probably will learn a lot. win win!!
