Hey! Sandy from Charleston SC! Don't like it but Mom won't move to the place I love, NC. I spent about $17 for two cd's, one on crocket and one for knitting. Trying to figure out which one I wanted to learn. I already knew how to make a loop chain but learned awhile back that you have to wrap the thread around the needle before pulling it though. I have almost finished a tan/multicolored striped cover from Mom. I had to tear it apart three times. One side was much wider than the other. Have to watch closer to make the same size loops! Wondering if someone can answer a little question that is embarrassing to ask. How do you add thread without the knot showing? one knot pulls apart so I double knot it and some of the knots show though, not that she'll notice but I want to learn and to make it better. Forget the directions, I can' even stand to look at them. I'm only interested in afghans and soon I hope a baby blanket or two! I really dread trying with a tiny needle, that will really take some patients and slow work. My 86 yr old Aunt just made a baby blanket. She's going to show me how to do the two color zig zag design but theres others that I like much better for a baby. I read that you can choket up and down on the same side or flip it. I tried up and down and it's like you are doing it backwards and I can't do it. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Sandy Lewis If you'd like a good laugh, I finished my Mom's afghan. I layed it out on the dinning room table and right away I knew it was TOO BIG! It needed to be a bit wider and it was waaaaaaaaay to long. As soon as she laid eye's on it (folded) she said that' too big! today she said it's in the backseat of her car. I told her I would redo it. I'll stip it down again make it wider and alot shorter. Bad thing is I spent too much on yarn, good thing is, I learned alot about size! It was pretty but if the size isn't right what's the point! I cleaned up everything including the piece from triming the fringe and now I have to do it all again. Guess I won't be moving on to another project anytime soon! LOL

Wait, wait! To save most of your work, can you just rip back until it's short enough and then reuse the ripped out yarn to make borders on the sides?

THANKS BUT I'M TAKING IT APART AND STARTING OVER, NO NEED TO TOSS ALL THAT YARN. IT'S PRETTY EASY TO TAKE APART, I DID IT THREE TIMES WHEN I FOUND ONE END LARGER THAN THE OTHER. THIS TIME I WILL MEASURE AND COUNT!

Sandy Lewis YEAH THAT'S MY PLAN! I don't like something that's not right and dont like wasting material. I will redo it with what i have. At least the fringe will be cut just right and fast to put back on

I started with the lenght not the width so I have alot of pulling to do! Want to get to it and get it over with. How many strings do you usually use for each fringe? I used three and it looked good!
