I'm new to the forum here - although I've lurked on crochetme for quite awhile...

Just figured it was time to finally get up and moving here!

I'm from Huntsville, AL. I'm a transplant from NJ/PA. We moved here a few years ago and I would not want to move away. I really love this town!

I have a husband, two boys, a big toy poodle and a pond full of fish. If ever you are in the area just drop me a line - I'm usually good to get out of the house and meet for lunch!

I'm a crochet designer. I freelance for Caron and am probably going to expand out to a few more yarn companies. I also have my own website with patterns on it for sale - and so far one for free. There will be more for free in the upcoming months.

I've been crocheting for a looOOOooong time. I also quilt, sew, machine knit, machine embroider and I am dangerous with a wood burning tool ;)

Glad to be here. I hope to be very active as well.

Hi CraftyDeb,

You have some cute critters on your site.

BTW, your link doesn't work as written on your user profile. Links have to start with http: or the software here thinks it's a page on this site.

Welcome,

Pauline

mad for crochet!

Hi CraftyDeb, I am glad you found this site. I like your website- I think Tobor & Cyclopbot are my favorites.

PS I have a fish pond too. Just frogs and fancy goldfish so far. I'd love to have one of your Koi, but Alabama is a little far from Massachusetts!

Hey CraftyDeb! I'm from Birmingham, AL so it's nice to see another 'Bama girl here.

Welcome... I doubt I will ever be in your area but if I am I will sure take you up on the lunch thing.

I do a lot of the same crafts you do (except not very well yet).. I pretty much haven't really found a yarn or thread craft I haven't liked (except I suck at knitting). What is machine knitting like? I have never actually seen a machine that knits (I know they exist but they don't seem to in my small world).

Oh and if you're ever out west let me know... I show you around.

Machine knitting has a learning curve - and I don't know if I will ever learn all there is to know about it! We have a group that meets once a month at least at one of our local Hobby Lobby's.. although it is sporadic at best lately... I have been a bad bad bad group leader....!

I am planning on getting the group together on the 7th. I want to make an intricate cabled scarf for some reason. I saw one on Craftster and now I want it. It is as good a project as any I figure so I am going to go for it...!

I like machine knitting but I still won't make fitted garments. They frustrate me to no end!
