I've just learned the basics at an intro class.. so basically, I have learned to make a sc washcloth and a granny square. Beyond that I am totally LOST! Patterns confuse the heck out of me. I'm so not used to the the way they are written and like I've said, I've only made a granny square and a sc washcloth. I'm hoping to learn more and expand my knowledge of crochet. There really aren't any other crochet classes by me here and I'm looking for some good tutorials or online classes. So far, I've checked out NexStitch and Crochet by Teresa. I'd really like to learn how to read patterns and all of the stuff beginners need to know. I look forward to learning more and hope this will be a great place to get tips, tricks, and suggestions!

Hi Knitpurlgurl,

You've come to a good place to learn. Reading crochet patterns is much like reading knitting patterns once you learn the vocabulary. Good luck!

Learning from people is usually easiest but there are tons of tutorials online and even on Youtube... I find it is easiest to find a project you want to make and then find out how to make it. There are loads of people who can help you here too.

Good luck and welcome to the hooking side!
