Hello everyone!!! Im learning how to crochet and some of these patterns seem so easy at times and other times its like a foreign language. Is there anyplace that gives step by step illustrated instructions?
Hi, I know exactly what you mean and I've been crocheting for a long time. My great-grandmother taught me when I was in the 6th grade, but just the basics.
Just about every crochet magazine, book or booklet has the basics included and the good ones illustrate & describe the unusual stitches used in the patterns. One little book that I love and find easy to use is The Crochet Answer Book my Edie Eckman. A very useful tool. I ordered mine from Amazon and it was $12.95.
I wonder what are other peoples favorite guides?
Glad you're here, I just joined 2 weeks ago and am really enjoying the site.
Keep crocheting, it does get easier and will quickly become second nature. I just started my first pair of crocheted socks and while I'm thorougly enjoying it, I have ripped out the first sock 3 times now. I keep making little adjustment to it. (-:
