I have been crocheting for a VERY long time but still consider myself a beginner. When I reach the end of my row, I can never tell if I have reached the end of the row or not so the edge of my project is always crooked. Any tip or tricks to avoid this annoying thing?

Meep! All this time, I have been putting a stitch marker in the turning chain so that I can find the end on my way back.
