Hello!! I was wondering if anyone has attempted to make socks? I just found a book I had stashed on sock making & thought I may give it a try. I don't care much for wool (too uncomfortable for me), but I'd try anything else. Any yarn suggestions for a first attempt? What where your experiences. Feel free to share!!

Hi~ I recently made a pair of crocheted socks... found the pattern in a magazine. I used a 75% cotton, 25% merino wool blend from knitpicks ("mainline") since I am also sensitive to wool. They came out great!

Hachi, I haven't tried socks yet, but I'd be interested in learning your experience with them. Ellee.

I just bought a book with about 4 patterns and brought some sock weight yard (1) and am going to attempt. I have just started to crochet and have almost completed my first afghan so I will let you know. They don't seem to be to difficult, will post a picture when I get them completed.

Hi there,

I bought a book approx. two years ago about crocheted socks. I found crocheted short rows (heel) easier than the knitted version which I have tried before (btw, an experienced sock knitter confirmed my problem to understand written instructions for short rows; so, it was the instruction ... not me!).

I crocheted them "toe up" single crochet stich, back loop only (in the round).
