Hi, this is my first post on Crochetme. I've been crocheting for nearly 2 years and just LOVE IT!

I've just downloaded this great tapestry crochet pattern from Carol Ventura. It asks for size 3 wool cotton thread from DMC, I've never bought crochet cotton thread before, its sooooo confusing!! I can't find size 3 cotton thread anywhere in Australia, the largest is #5. Could this be our 3ply cotton thread?

Is bedspread cotton = #10 cotton?

Any help you can give will be appreciated.

Thank you,

Linda

Hi Linda,

I am not sure what the sizing is in Australia, but a size 3 crochet cotton would probable be your 3 ply. The best cotton for a bedspread would be a #5, #10 is too small and will end up giving you a headache. I hope I have helped you. I have been crocheting for about 45 years and love working with cotton, wool, alpaca, silk, just about anything. My next project is to use my plastic grocery bags as yarn.

Let me know how your project goes.
