Here is a pattern I finished recently. The pattern is on my blog. I used a heavy lace weight yarn, but the pattern should work with any yarn

I liked it so much that I've started to make it in fingering/sock wt yarn with a 4.5mm hook. Now I wonder how that compares to your 'heavy lace weight' yarn.
