I got tired of changing the tiny ziploc bag that was holding all my hooks because one of them had poked of yet another hole in it... So I make myself a case. I found the pattern at http://www.berroco.com/exclusives/kluster/kluster.html

I used almost 4 skeins of Freedom Wool by Twilley & Stamford, with a 11.5mm hook for the felted part. Since it was my first felting project and I had no idea how much it would shrink, I made it bigger than the pattern called for. I made it so it was 13"X19", and it ended up being about 10"X14". If I had known, I wouldn't have made it so wide. The lenght is good, as I can put more hooks that I yet have to buy. But it's a bit big. The fact that I crocheted with 2strands TOG made it quite thick. I recommend using only one strand with a smaller hook.

For the strip down the middle, I started with a smaller hook so it'd be tight enough to hold smaller hooks.

Anyway, here it is

Nice colors and looks good. If it's well felted, and you want it smaller, can you just trim it to size with a scissors?

I actually like that it's so big. I'd fold the sides in, then roll it. That way I'd KNOW my hooks weren't going anywhere!

Yeah, I could cut the sides... but I just don't want to.

And unfortunately, it's thicker than it looks, so I can't just fold the sides in. It's too thick to close well afterwards.

Looks good - this pattern is on the long list of things I'd like to make.

Awsome! Awsome! Awsome! I was planning on sewing myself a new hook holder - but that is a much better idea.

I have made this same hook holder by the same pattern. However, I found that my smaller hooks sometimes slide out. So, I'm thinking about sewing some flaps of cotton fabric on the top and bottom edges to fold over the hooks to prevent this. It looks so cool, but not as practical as I thought it would be.
