I couldn't settle for making something merely "cute" for my friends' new baby (due any day now). When I found out the parents were Jolly Roger nuts, I was inspired to make these bibs. I found the chart online, and the bib pattern itself is SC tapestry crochet.

Probably not everyday practical, but I'm sure they'll be good for parties!

Twenty years from now -

Interviewer: Our viewers have wanted to know, what led to your career in piracy?

Pirate chief: The Jolly Roger has always held a central role in my life. There's a photo in the family album of me eating strained peas wearing a bib with a Jolly Roger on it. A dear family friend, now a major figure in my fleet, made the bib.
