I used the same stitch as comfi cardi from Crochet Me, and the same basic up-and-over method, but made it a bit tighter. I was going to add a bit of ribbing, but then I saw a pic in a magazine of a Moschino crochet cardi (for £1300!!!) with a chiffon edging so thought I'd have a go. Sewing used to be my thing (before I realised crochet took far less time and mess!) so it was quite good to combine the two. Would be interested to hear if anyone else has tried similar things?

Wow! That is gorgeous! So romantic. I love the chiffon trim and tie. Did you sew it by hand or on a machine?

mad for crochet!

Impressive! I'm working on the comfy cardi right now, but I'm going to stick with the pattern - Tempting to try something else, though. Too many other projects!

I made the chiffon strips and gathered them on a machine, they are basically tubes so that there would be no raw edges to fray, but I decided to sew them on by hand as I couldn't see the machine stitch working that well through wool! Glad you like it!
