Whew! Two posts for my first time posting here! Yay!
Okay, so last year I decided I wanted to learn lace patterns and thread crochet. So I started looking up patterns, and did a few practice runs, then decided I wanted to make something BIG!! (I can never jump into a new craft halfway, I don't think. That's a sign of addiction, I'm pretty sure. ) I came up with an idea to make a cute little lacey overskirt to wear with some petticoats I wanted to make this year too.
So I found a couple of patterns online, modified one or two bits, got a little creative with the edgings, and came up with this. Let me know what you think!
The finished skirt, with new ribbon!
Thanks for looking! I hope you enjoyed it!
That's darling, and very well-designed, well-done! How many times have you worn it yet?
Pauline
Not many so far, actually. I can crochet a treat, but when it comes to sewing those petticoats, I shy away!! I'm thinking I might end up wearing it with shorts and/or dance pants for a while. I REALLY want to show it off and wish I could wear it more often.
That is so cute - and I am so glad you don't have a ruffle bum. I hate it when that happens. I think it will look great over just about anything - do you live near a lake/river because that would be a very femine bikini wrap.
That's really great! I know a 14yo ballet dancer (my niece) who would *love* this! So if you post a pattern, I'm all over it!

I've been thinking about writing a pattern up for it. The coat too, but I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested. It took a really long time to finish, but I think it's worth it!
I'll probably try my hand at writing one up, when I get a chance. I'll update if I do! :D
I love the dress you made and I'm wondering where you found the original pattern for it? Thanks.
Well, if you mean the skirt, then there really isn't a pattern for it. I found a couple of stitch patterns online tht I liked, then I altered them a little bit to suit my needs and just made the whole thing from scratch! :) I am working on writing up a pattern though. Hopefully it'll be done faster than the skirt was! ;)
