That's right... the other half of my marathon crocheting efforts I alluded to previously. And this plushie is so cute you'll almost forget that this character is a sociopathic mass murderer who uses a supernatural notebook to further his goal of reigning as god over a new world of his making ;)

To pauline3: Light Yagami is the protagonist (so to speak) and the antihero of the manga series Death Note. He is a brilliant but bored high school student who finds the titular death note, a supernatural notebook which has the power to kill anyone whose name is written down therein. Taking to this turn of events like an octopus to water, Light promptly begins using it to "pass righteous judgement" on whom he sees fit, necessitating the involvement of the prodigy detective L (previously posted). It would be a spoiler for me to tell you more, but wikipedia has a nice article. :)

I adored comic books when I was little, about 60 years ago! Unfortunately, I was a good little girl and listened to my mom who considered them total trash. I adore the newspaper comics and some online comics, but manga with backward reading books hasn't caught me yet. Maybe another trip to B&N to develop my taste in guilty pleasures?

Pauline, when you go to B&N, look for the Asterix comic books. They tell the adventures of Gaulish villagers who drink a potion that makes them super-strong. It enables them to hold out against the conquering Romans. The books are fun and silly.
