A Tree in Winter - filet crochet

I love the way trees look in winter and I thought filet crochet would be a good medium for making a representation. I couldn't find a chart that I liked for a tree, so I drew one out on graph paper.





It was fun seeing how the design came to life in the yarn.





 I used fingering weight alpaca/wool and dyed it with oak bark.

oh wow - I didn't realize this could be done. I'm an artist and paint trees - and this is a wonderful way to depict them as well! Thanks for the idea!
