This hat was an exploration of slip stitch. Most of the hat is slip stitch in the front loop only in rounds. I love the smooth solid, but lightweight fabric this stitch produces. I also like the roll brim that results.
mad for crochet!
Ooh! Pattern, please! Very cool.
I am glad you like it! I will write out a pattern for it soon.
Great looking hat! Love your colorways, looks toasty warm by using slip stitch. What yarn did you use?
Thanks mjwarner! The yarn is from Knitpicks, thier bare peruvian highland wool in worsted weight. I dyed it with plants - the grey is echinacea and burdock mordanted with iron, and the blue is black beans mordanted with alum.
So... not from Michael's I guess. (just kidding) I knew it had to be something very unique, none of the off the shelf yarns can hold a candle to the colors you've achieved. Beautiful! Martha
Okay folks, the pattern is up. http://crochetme.com/patterns/msbusyfingers-slip-stitch-hat Have at it!
Thank you! It's next on my list.
