I finally sewed it together and got my sweetie to take a photo.
Here is a closeup of the beaded hem.
mad for crochet!
my increasing disability/pain prohibits me from doing most of what i'd like to do...weeks go by when my hands don't work at all, every now & then i'm able to crochet for 15 minutes or so. i'm learning patience. visiting this site helps me not to be frustrated. thank you.
Oh My! Thankyou! I am glad to be a help to you. I am so sorry your hands give you trouble. Have you ever tried an herb called arnica? It is helpful in a lot of situations. All the best, Sarah
best wishes to you, too. eleanor
Wow- how beautiful! Magnificent!
You have inspired me to start a Doris Chan Skirt "Walking After Midnight". I've never made a skirt before- wish me luck. I've just finished 2 rows- 34 to go...
I can't help but be moved by wobbly. My grandmother had osteoarthritis and she's the person who taught me how to crochet. She must have been in great pain but still taught her impatient grandaughter how to make pineapple patterns.
Love to you all. Michele
That's very pretty--excellent work, good choice of color. I bet it's fun to wear.
Wobbly--I like to do scrumbles too when my wrists are in protest mode. They're manageable size, and not too repetitive. And so satisfying to assemble later!
Absolutely stunning!!!! I have been contemplating making a skirt, now I will have to try!!! Thanks for the inspiration!!
Thanks! I have had my eye on Doris's Lara's Dance Skirt too - maybe in cotton. How lovely that your Grandmother taught you the pineapples - it probably gave her pleasure to pass on her art, even if she was in physical pain.
Thanks! I was very excited about the colors - I dyed the yarn with tree lichen. I want to see some of those scrumbles!
How nice! Thankyou. It was really fun to make this skirt. Good luck with yours.
Why do they not have crochet school for kids who would rather make a glamourous skirt than copy pictures of microscopic corn cells!?!?
Maybe you could crochet some examples of microscopic corn cells!
haha... I wonder what my bio teacher would do if I handed in a crocheted corn instead of my lab :)
perhaps you could use the crocheted corn for props. you know - visual aids!! :o)
