Bright colors, especially bright after coming from hand-dyer sarahcrit's post. I love both earth-tone and vivid color schemes.
Oh wow, no kiddin'! That Boteh scarf is just beautiful. The color changes in my "Haru" are ... amazing, to say the least. This yarn is making me put colors side-by-side that I would NEVER choose, but I am fascinated to see what's going to happen next! There is not a single color repeat so far (at least, that I can find) in 3 skeins (100 yards each) of this yarn! (Tonalita by Trendsetter.)
I have set aside 3 skeins that APPEAR to have the same color sequence on the outside of the ball, so I can try to get the sleeves to match one another but it is probably hopeless.
Yes ... I am hoping to have enough yarn (I ordered some more from my LYS) to put sleeves on my "Haru vest" and make it a Haru sweater, though with long sleeves not short the way DC has it in the book. Way too much fun!
Update: I posted a new picture! and while I await more yarn for sleeves on the first one (is it gaudy, or what?!) I started a new one in cotton/acrylic/nylon for a summer-weight sweater. I think the explanation is that I need ALL those wild colors in the first one, because it has been such a gray March, but I believe summer will come so I'm making the blue one too! Also now that I am crocheting again my fingers start to twitch without some yarn and a hook in my hands....
Having read Doris Chan's fitting article in the current Interweave Crochet I am making the blue sweater a size smaller and I'm going to try her fitting technique with short rows for the "wedge." When did I get a wedge?!? I never used to need extra space "up top"! but I'd like to have the sweater fit better across my shoulders/collarbones without being overall too small. So we'll see how this works....!
