Automn is already here, and now that I have more free time, I returned to my old love: crochet.

Saw some nice patterns in a friends magazine and I could't stop thinking of them.

Choosed 4 square patterns, 4 colours and started to crochet a blanket.

4 esquemas

Here are each one of the sqare patterns:

This one is called "Cruz de encaje" (something as Cross lace):

Cruz de encaje

This one is called Cafe con leche (Coffee with milk):

Café com leche

Alhambra (refering to a Spanish city)

Alhambra

Nenúfar (water lily)

Nenúfar

I'm making 20 squares of Alhambra and another 20 of Cruz de encaje. The Nenufar are only 8 and 16 of the coffe with milk.

The idea is to create a cool composition with the four different patterns.

Hope to have this ready before the cold comes, so I stil have... 2 months.

Hi Smootha,

Great colors! I think you'll create a beautiful afghan.

Here, Seattle, it's already in the low 50's (Fahrenheit) at night so cool weather is weeks, not months, away. Lucky you!

Thanks.

I see Seattle is cold...

Here, near Lisboa, we are stil with a pleasant 77 Fahrenheit.

During the day is complicated to crochet anything for more than 1 hour.

Smootha, I LOVE the colors you chose!! This is going to be one cool afghan. Definately not like granny used to make. Lol!! I hope to see a photo when you finish. Are you keeping this one for yourself?

Hi Hachiko.

Tanks for your words. I can't wait to have this one finished.

This one is for myself, works like a test for colours, squares...

I've been working only with cotton yard, but friends challenged me to try wool and bigger works.

And I did, an afghan the most different I have ever done.

I'll post a picture of it on my patterns.

Those squares are very nice. I especially like the Alhambra. I went to that place when I was a young girl and was amazed by the beauty!

Raquel,

I think you are brave to do an afghan. I am Miss Instant Gratification. Ha ha!! So an afghan is NOT in the picture for me. Did you design the patterns yourself? If not, where did you find them? I'd love to try Alhambra & Cruz de Encahe!!

Hi Hachiko.

On some itens Ia lso prefer immediate gratification :D

But afghans are becoming a true love.

Someone gave me these patterns. I can post those patterns on My Patterns, but I'll take a while writting it in english. But I'll post a nice pic of both to help undestand.

Here is an update on my autumn blanket

I've already started to join some squares, but just because I finished the mustard colored wool of alhambra square.

It's becoming like this:

it's already halfway done. the rest of the design will be simetric to the existing squares.

Thanks!

I think I never did anything so elaborate as this one.

I'm totally in love with these squares.

I presented it to you all on my patterns. Hope you undestand my poor explanations...

Almost done!

I have no picture yet, but I am already crocheting all the way around. I'm on the last row.

It's gorgeous! Can't wait to finish it and show it here!

Insulted?? No way!

Something like this should be done for a great number of people.

I didn't have the time yet to wtitte the pattern of the other 3 squares, but when I do, I'll be happy if you and anyone else do one like this one.
