Hi everyone. Hachiko here. Just wanted to share what I am working on & learn what you all are creating as well. I've been stitching some holiday gifts...scarves & such....but I'm also making a simple shrug for myself as well. I'm using the Easy Shrug pattern in Mary Jane Hall's Positively Crochet book. I picked the Simply Soft yarn by Caron in Country Blue. The pattern is quick & easy. I hope to share a photo with you soon. Please post about your latest projects!!

I've been making crochet necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and watchbands--practicing thread techniques while making something useful and (I hope) pretty. Most of it I will give as Christmas gifts. My next big project will be a pair of crocheted lace gloves. Wish me luck!

I have been working on a shawl/wrap/stole.The yarn is bare Pallet from knitpicks that I dyed with rue and alum for the yellow, and cypress with iron for the grey. The stitch pattern is from MyPicot.com.

It's coming along. I think I will add rows of just the cypress grey color on the outsides. I haven't decided whether to do fringe or weave in all the ends!

mad for crochet!

I tried to add a couple of photos, but they aren't showing up.

I just got the photos to show up on a new topic called Rue and Cypress Waves

Oops!! The photos must not have loaded earlier Sarah. I really like your scarf. It's funny. I was just thinking the other day about trying a scarf like that! Great minds think alike, eh?! Anyway, I love how your dyes worked out. Is it hard to dye yarns? Maybe you could give us a tutorial sometime....

If you're interested in the glove pattern, it's on knittingdaily.com (it's run by the same people that do Interweave Crochet magazine). The pattern is actually for fingerless gloves, but I figure it's easy enough to finish it out.

Thanks for the heads up hookX3. Unfortunately I am not safe with knitting needles. Ha ha!! I've managed you really get my first project totally stuck to the needles. But thank you again....In the meantime, I'll just admire your work.

The glove pattern is crochet. I don't know how to knit at all! :) knittingdaily.com has knit and crochet patterns for free download.

I'm working on a basket weave patterned scarf. It's the first time I've ever done anything with Alpaca yarn. IT is super soft.
