Hey gang!!

I hope you are all busy stitching today. The North East is getting slammed with a lot of snow. A good day to sit & create!!

As for me, I have been working on some grannie square slippers from a vintage pattern. I did them in some leftover acrylic yarn ( not the best kind, but good enuf for slippers that will get a beating on my hardwood floors!!). I'll try to post a photo when they are completed.

I want to make a bikini from the same vintage brochure. This would be my first real clothing. Any advice is welcomed. I already know that I'll be using a cotton blend. I'm only using the bikini to sun in, but I don't want any stretch. Post me about any of your own experiences working with a cotton blend or suggestions of brands of yarn to use.

Anyway, today's a snow day in Baltimore so I'm off to work on some new motifs. Have a great day!!!!

mad for crochet!

Hi Hachiko, It sounds like you had a good day planned out. I have been working on footwear too - trying to make the perfect crochet socks!I am having photo issues and I am going to visit my folks for a few days,(there may be a trip to Webbs Yarns in Northampton in the works!!) so I won't be posting pics for a little while, but I promise to when I can. I like that you are working on a bikini in the snowy weather!
