I found two double ended crochet hooks at my local thrift store and had a heck of a time finding instructions until I saw it referenced as “crochet on the double”.  It seems very similar to the afghan stitch or Tunisian, but from the written instructions found when I searched the web (ie ehow.com), I had a hard time following until I found      www.freepatterns.com

If you go to the crochet tab, it will give you more options…or you can get to the “crochet on the double” tab here:

http://www.freepatterns.com/content/content.html?content_cat_id=330&type_id=S

To the right of the page there is a library and there are short videos that show the different steps.

I am sure there are more YouTube videos, but it is hard to find them because even if you put double-ended, or crochet on the double…you end up with a ton of double crochet videos.  This one is called double ended Tunisian crochet.

Good Luck!

I am currently working on a project that is Tunisian double-ended crochet in the round. This is a fun technique! We do have a video for this technique.

Thanks!!!  I had no idea that I could work with these hooks in the round.  I am not very successful with my knitting yet and I have been trying to make simple square swatches with these double ended hooks...and to be honest I hadn't decided if the look was really worth the effort, but I can totally see making hats that have a little more stretch.  The video is great.  Thank you, Toni.
