I stopped in to say THANK YOU to Kim WErker for the book Crochet Me.

I knit.  I was in the local yarn shop and saw this book and thought, Darn, now I have to learn to crochet, because I loved the patterns.  So, I bought Learn to Crochet Visually and taught myself.  Yesterday, I went back and bought Crochet Me.

I never learned to crochet because I associated it with granny squares in Orlon Sayelle from back in the 70s.  Kim's book showed me it has come of age.  I still swear I will not do granny squares, but I don't think that will keep me from having great fun.  So far, I've made a shrug, couple of scarves, a tunic and am finishing another tunic with a criss cross pattern.  i think i can read a pattern now.

Welcome to the world of crochet!!! Granny Squares have come a long way from the 70's though. I do variations of them in different projects, you never know. But have fun with whatever you do.

Are you kidding, I love Granny Squares. I've made some very nice afghans with Granny Squares

Long live the Granny Square

Happy crocheting,
