Like most folks in this great country of Canada I have been fortunate to have a good life and was in want of little ,truth fully speaking.
The community i moved to after retirement is not particularly a sociable community so my endeavors to find a knit & natter group have fallen on deaf ears. However, I found a way to help out. Each year I pull together a box for the food bank of Christmas gifts ,mostly for children and older as babies seem to always be the chosen .Last year I crocheted 27 sets of hats and scarves as well as singles, several books,DVDs(good quality movies) Coloring books and crayons some jewellery and hair bobbles. As a senior on pension II find it easier to build it through the year and that way I am able to give more.Hubby loved ot see my stash get smaller!LOL!This years will be less because i have been having health issues, however, I am working on fingerless gloves, quick and easy and variety and decorative ideas abound!
Heathlyn, you have hit on a wonderful way to make a local impact.
