Is there a difference between doing TKS, TPS to make a rib pattern.....or doing the Twisted Tunisian stitch?? It is just technique?? Is one easier than the other??
The pattern I have calls for TKS, TPS but I cannot seem to make it work right. Helps??
ThanksAnne
Hi Anne,
I have found that the Twisted Tunisian stitch, which is a distinct stitch, works well for ribbing. You can find videos for how to work this stitch as well as other stitches in the Crochet Video Techniques. Good luck!
Toni
Hi Toni,
Thanks for the quick answer!! I checked out the video's, which are fabulous by the way, and think I know where I am going wrong. I did a Tunisian Simple stitch and then a Tunisian Pearl stitch........I think I should have done a Tunisian Knit stitch (actually going right through to the back) and then a Tunisian Pearl stitch. Which is what the pattern is calling for. I was only getting one row of the V's.
The Twisted Tunisian stitch ...while a different type of stitch as I understand it......is what I wanted it to look like...a rib pattern. Think I will make a swatch of that tonight to see which technique I prefer. Can I upload a picture to show you what I am working on???
I have to say, I am really enjoying the Tunisian stitches!!
Careful with the Tunisian crochet; it is highly addictive. LOL! Yes, I would love to see what you are working on. And I'm really glad that the videos helped. I prefer the Twisted Tunisian for ribbing myself. The Tunisian knit and purl stitches might look like knit stitches, but they don't react quite the same.
Good to know, thanks. I am going to try the two swotches tonight and see which I prefer. Will let you see it then.....but if you can't wait, its the Tunisian Rib Stitch Zip Front Cardigan designed by Treva McCain.
Thanks again for your help....love this board!!
CheersAnne
