Can someone tell e exactly how I would do this? I don't understand the instructions...if you can't tell I'm new to crocheting.
Whatever the number of chains in your beginning (foundation) chain, this is what you would do.
NOT counting the chain on the hook, count back 3 chains from the hook; in that 3rd chain, you would do 2 double crochet stitches. You would then do 2 double crochet stitches in each of the remaining chains to the end of the row.

So I would do 2 dc in the same chain side by side,,,meaning I would do my 1st dc in the third chain then go back into the 3rd chain and do another dc right?
