I'm doing a pattern that says it is for beginners but I'm having a problem with the first row already.  It says ch 32, row 1 ch1, turn, ch1, 1sc in 4th ch from hook, *ch 1, skip next ch, 1 sc in ch, repeat from * to end of row.

I got it from the * on but I don't get ch 32 and then it says chain 1 again and turn?

Help please!!

termar 30,

the 32 ch is to build your work upon.

Usually we use ch1 for single crochet either as the first stitch or as the necessary height.

Looks like you are doing the linen stitch. In your case the first ch1 in r1 is your first sc of the row. . Then you leave the next stitch by making a chain1and stitch a sc in 4th chain.

happy crocheting,
