I want to make the hooded scarf featured in the Free Crochet Accessories Patterns e-book. The directions say,"cable (see Stitch Guide)". I can't find the Stitch Guide referred to. Can anyone help me out with this?
If you go back to the beginning of the pattern .....it mentions "Getting Started'....supplies, hook size etc. Directly below it is the next subtitle...."Stitch Guide"....
Cable: Dc, inserting hook in last skipped sc 4
sts to right.
I've missed it before.....
Thanks. Now that I see it, I wonder how I missed it.
Ok, so I AM stuck and hoping somebody could help...
Row 1 ends with 302 st
Row 2 suggests Ch 3 (counts as dc), sk first sc, *sk next sc, dc in next 3 sc, cable (see StitchGuide) rep from *, ending with dc in last sc,
Does this mean I'll end up with less stitches?
Much thanks in anticipation
you should end up with the same number you start with....302.
on row 2...you do the chain 3 (counts as dc)....
[to get the cable effect you will be working over 4 stitches...you are skipping the first sc, doing 3 dc the next 3 sc, then the cable stitches stretches back to the sc that was skipped at the beginning. so although it reads as if you are skipping stitches ...you will actually be using them for the cable.....maintain a constant number of stitches].
Hope that makes sense.
if you have some waste yarn .....make a small swatch over a multiple of 4 plus 2. You should see how it works rather quickly.
Thanks so much.
I thought the stitch guide was for a dc... but it all makes sense now. :)
