  • Crochet Top pattern

Hi, I could really use some help in figuring out the below pattern. The pattern is in symbols but the pattern is so dim and blurry that I am having difficulty reading it - not sure if it is my eyes or if it is the pattern itself. The pattern states 2010 so I was hoping maybe someone had this pattern...

  • Looking for pattern for a square with a circle in the middle (granny square)

I found this gorgeous blanket online and want to make something like it. No idea how to do those circles on the outside and I was wondering if anyone has seen a pattern for something similar? Here is the link to the blanket(on pinterest): http://pinterest.com/pin/9429480439573463/ and here is a close...

  • Re: Blocking Wires

Blocking wires are nice. There is a great tutorial on Knitting Daily website. http://www.knittingdaily.com/blogs/howto/archive/2009/05/06/using-blocking-wires-to-block-a-lace-shawl.aspx There are also several DIY projects you can find on the web on how to make your own using supplies from the hardware...

  • Sprout Chains Shawlette HELP!

Hi, i just picked up the pattern for the Sprout Chains Shawlette a few days ago. I got my Crochet So Fine book several months ago and absolutely LOVE it! I'm going to Italy in May and am currently using the trip as an excuse to make a very nice cover-up for those churchy-tourist attractions (no paper...

  • The Letter

Over the weekend, my husband and I were watching an old black and white movie on TCM with Bette Davis (The Letter). Throughout the movie, Ms. Davis is crocheting what she called "lace" -- I watched carefully and I swear, she was ACTUALLY crocheting Irish Lace! Towards the end of the movie,...

  • Re: Where can I find information in the U.S. on Turkish crochet oya?

By the way... Midori Nishida has two more books in this series (in Japanese), if you can get by "reading the pictures" without the written instructions. You can find them on ebay and at yesasia.com . There's also a couple of people on etsy.com who sell oya items--good for pictures and ideas...

  • Re: THE OFFICIAL MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S SHAWL CROCHET-ALONG

Are there alternative yarns you would recommend for those of us who don't do merino? Is there a comparable baby alpaca or blend? Since you don't mention yarn weight is this 0 or 1? I guess the word "lace" gives it away, but just want to confirm before I purchase something other than...

  • Skull Doily --> My First Pattern!

Sorry for the shameless self-promotion, but I've finished my first pattern and am selling it on Etsy and Ravelry. It's a skull doily done in fliet crochet -- just in time to whip one up for Halloween or Día de los Muertos. Check it out: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/skull-doily...

  • Lacy hat/beret

I've made three of these hats already. I really love this pattern. It's written using a bulky yarn—11 sc-tbl over 4". So it worked up really fast. The third photo uses a thinner yarn. I got 13 sc-tbl over 4" so I made the largest size and it measures about 21" circumference. There...
