  • Hi! I'm Christine a new crocheter from Asheville NC

Hello everyone! I'm very excited to be here. I just started crocheting so I have a lot to learn. I'm sure i'll be visiting this forum a lot. My mom taught me how to do my first crochet stitch a couple of months ago and I've learned a few more since. We have an Etsy store together now...

  • Patter I don't understand.

I'm doing a pattern that says it is for beginners but I'm having a problem with the first row already. It says ch 32, row 1 ch1, turn, ch1, 1sc in 4th ch from hook, *ch 1, skip next ch, 1 sc in ch, repeat from * to end of row. I got it from the * on but I don't get ch 32 and then it says...

  • Re: The Official Petal Pullover Crochet-Along

Hey, so things are looking up----I'm back from "a trip" to several LYSs & on my 5th stop, I bought 5 skeins of MerLin in "Crabapple"---which is a raspberry-red! It's a stand-out for sure! Red is my favorite color and so I'm swatching now--hoping to catch up to all...

  • Re: The Official Petal Pullover Crochet-Along

i actually just picked up enough hobby lobby sport, in a very similar pale blue, a couple of weeks ago for this same sweater :) i was thinking since is is 100% acrylic, i would actually work smaller guage rather than "to fit", to give some room for acrylic stretch & growth. thoughts?

  • Re: The Official Petal Pullover Crochet-Along

Hello. I've never done a crochet a long nor have I made something for me to wear! I've done baby sweaters, hats, booties, fingerless gloves as well as adult hats and scarves, a few shawls and afghans/coverlets galore over the past 40+ years. This pattern is beautiful and caught my interest. However...

  • Sprout Chains Shawlette HELP!

Hi, i just picked up the pattern for the Sprout Chains Shawlette a few days ago. I got my Crochet So Fine book several months ago and absolutely LOVE it! I'm going to Italy in May and am currently using the trip as an excuse to make a very nice cover-up for those churchy-tourist attractions (no paper...

  • Re: OFFICIAL SIDNEY'S SIDEWAYS SOCKS CAL

I started working on my gauge swatch today. I have some doubts about this yarn as a good sock maker. It's a little scratchy. Granted, I'm sensitive to wool, but I have found some wools more irritating than others, and I imagine one would want soft fibers for a sock. I'm not making these for...
