Introduction

I am a crocheter, I can knit but I really don’t like to but I love the Sashay ruffle scarfs and recently had an order for 12 of them from one of the stores I sell at. I used the method where you insert your hook every other stitch for 10-12 stitchesand then pull the last stitch through all the rest, but after crocheting a few of them I realized that I really didn’t like the way they were coming out. They weren’t full enough and they had a “flat” side and you could see the stitches.

I researched other ways to crochet the scarfs and wasn’t happy with that method either (3sc, ch2 or other variations of this method) they didn’t twist and curl the way I wanted them to.

So this is what I came up with, I’ve had the pattern tested and the testers agreed,this method works so much better. The scarfs are full and fluffy and they don’t have any flat parts you can also barely see (if you can see them at all) anystitches.

one skein of Sashay Ruffle yarn in color of choice
5.5 mm hook

Notes

Fix each ruffle in between and after stitch and make sure that the stitches are as close as possible where it says in very next space as this is what locks the ruffle in place so that you can’t see the stitches.

The Artfully Simple Infinity Scarf pattern is super easy, hides a multitude of sins, and comes with just one rule: no stress allowed! This finished scarf is between 50 and 60 inches long, and twists and turns on itself naturally – perfect for wearing doubled as a cowl, as well as long, tied, anything you can come up with! The little button tie embellishment is a separate optional piece, and instructions for that are included as well!

The Artfully Simple Infinity Scarf is a great one skein project that really shows off interesting and luxurious yarns. Perfect for thick and thin yarns, as well as yarns with long color changes, it can be made with any size hook and yarn – just start by chaining until you’ve got your desired length in a multiple of 7 sts and go from there. Using this pattern, every cowl will be unique. In the right yarn it’s a wearable work of art!

This scarf is light, beautiful, and the perfect accessory for a chilly day. What could be cheerier at this dark and windy time of year? It’s great for holiday gift giving, and works up in a flash.

The finished crochet scarf pattern as written is about 6 inches wide and about 6 feet long, but as it’s a scarf, gauge isn’t terribly important – just work the pattern with the hook and yarn that give you the result you like.

To make it with just one skein of yarn, stop the first half when you’re not quite halfway through the skein, then make the second half, leaving enough to work the sc edging.

365 yds worsted weight yarn (Caron Simply Soft Sunshine shown)

Finished Size

About 6 inches wide and about 6 feet long.

Colour is absolutely AMAZING! I mean can you imagine a life without all it's different shades of blues, purples, pinks and greens? It would be incredibly dull... Thankfully we've all been blessed with a bountiful array of beautiful colours that we can enjoy every single day!

So that's my random thought of the day, which happened to inspire this project/pattern. These three colours were laying next to each other in my nest of yarns, and they looked so pretty together that of course I just HAD to crochet something!

Cuddly Cat Crochet Scoodie with Pockets

Several things came together to make the Cuddly Cat Crochet Scoodie with Pockets – a reader request, my kids’ love of animals, and the inevitable need for new winter hats! Out of all these came this fun hat/hood-scarf-pockets cat lover’s combo!

Of course, it doesn’t have to be a cat – change the ear style and it can be any animal at all – the colors had me thinking both wolf and Totoro! In an orangey red it would make a great fox too. Your imagination is the only limit!

Materials List

US – K, 6.5 mm hook
US – H, 5.0 mm hook
Main Color: 630 – 945 yds worsted weight yarn (held doubled), OR half that quantity super bulky weight yarn (Caron Simply Soft in Grey Heather shown)
Contrast Color: 30 yds worsted weight yarn (Bernat Cottontots in White shown)
