The camisole will lace up in the back, and it will have either over-the-shoulder straps made to measure or convertible halter / over shoulder straps.

Size: to fit me, chest circumference 31" under the bust, with some shaping at the sides towards the waist. The lace-up back will provide any other fit adjustment. The cups were made separately to match a bra that fits me well. They're only temporarily fastened in the photo and the placement can be adjusted at this point.

I have not decided what to do for the bottom hem. Maybe just a scalloped edging, or a series of Irish crochet flowers and leaves?

This top is one of a series of summer garments: During my summer vacation days I had already crocheted a bikini using DMC Cebelia size 10 thread, plus a mesh coverup dress in size 3 Clea cotton. When I saw the Summer 2011 Interweave Crochet issue with special articles on thread crochet, I was inspired to make this top. Next I might try the Irish Crochet techniques shown in the article about Ukrainian-style crochet! (What amazing, beautiful work). My goal is to use up my stash of many, many different threads and lightweight cotton yarns, for a custom summer beach wardrobe. Thread crochet has always been my favourite medium, thank you Interweave for featuring it in the Summer 2011 issue.
