Just need to sew the last strip to the rest of the blanket and then edge it - am thinking in rows of yellow and green and then white open work - but will have to see how it works out.
I was wondering when you would post your next afghan! This is adorable!
You saw it finished then - right? In the finished photo gallery.
AWESOME! TOO CUTE FOR WORDS!
I want this pattern. can anyone help?
I just did a search for elephant afghan - and it came up with Stephanies elephant squares - I just made the squares and sewed them together and then did a simple border around the blanket - it wasn't hard other than you had to assemble the squares some - sewing on ears and the trunk and embroidering eyes. Let me know if you can't find the pattern for the squares and I will scan it and email it to you or something!
I'm a newby crocheter (is that a word?) I'm making my grand daughter a cuddle blanket using individual squares. Do you hand sew the blocks together, one-by-one?
Actually I think that Newbie is a word now - I hear it alot! haha!! And yes - you sew the squares together individually - well, you sew them together into a row and then sew rows together - you can see that is what I am in the process of doing in this pic. You can either sew them together whipstitch with a needle and yarn or you can use a hook and slip stitch them together - it looks nicer doing it with the needle - but I've done it both ways. Depends on what the blanket is going to be used for - if I'm entering it in the fair then it has to be done by hand cause it looks much nicer. Hope that helps! Have fun!
Not sure if you still check your posts, but if you do, I cannot find this pattern. I guess it has gotten taken off the websites because all I receive are error messages when trying to pull up Stephanie's elephant afghan, and I have found it on several but all with error messages. I figured out the elephant but am trying to figure out the white part around the elephant. Let me know if you still have the insight on that.Thanks.
EMundey - if you check back on this post please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org - I am sure that I know where the pattern is still and you are right - I tried to locate it online and it seems to have disappeared - I will email you the pattern so you can go ahead and make the rest of the square. bye for now, Jodi
