Midsummer Night’s Shawl Charts

A diaphanously structured lace shawl, this wrap uses treble clusters to create a striking flower design. A great intermediate level project, this pattern includes stitch diagrams for the visual crocheter. This shawl is a great accessory for any season.

Designer Lisa Naskrent
Finished Size: About 70" wide and 35" tall.
Yarn: Malabrigo Lace (100% baby merino; 470 yd [430 m]/1¾ oz [50 g]): #98 tuareg, 3 hanks.
Hook: Size G/6 (4.25 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions: Yarn needle; 4 stitch markers (m); scraps of yarn.
Gauge: Before blocking, smooth out Rows 1–5 and measure with yarn relaxed naturally: 6¾" from corner to corner; 4" tall from center ring of Row 1 to center tip of Row 5. Gauge is not critical.

I love this shawl and will make it as soon as I get the magazine. I bought your magazine at Barnes & Noble a while

back and it is wonderful.

I love the pattern but I am used to reading the instructions not using a chart so am a bit disappointed there isn't a little more to the instructions . If I am reading the chart correctly the shawl only has 9 rows to the main part ? There is a bracket over rows 6-9 that says repeat but for how many rows ?

Thank you so much for the chart!  It is the easiest way to crochet. Everybody in the world should learn how to crochet from charts.  Then you don't need to translate any language any more.  We will be able to crochet any pattern from any country!!!

I just downloaded the pattern chart to test, since someone said it was not free anymore.  It worked find.  But it is only the charts.  The full (with the written) pattern is in the Summer 2010 magazine.

Flower design? Looks like a bird design to me. Simply beautiful! I thinks this would go well with different colors also, in contrast of course.

If you know how to do a doily, then the shawl is pretty easy to make.

I LOVE this pattern!  Please, no complaints about charts as once you learn to use them, you'll never want to use a written pattern again!  Besides, it's hard to find a pattern WITH a chart!  So I'm "stuck" with a written pattern most always;-)  That said, this pattern (both written AND charted) are fairly easy to understand and once you know the pattern repeat, it's rather easy.  BEAUTIFUL and looks to very intricate with easy stitches.  I started this shawl a few nights ago and I'm making great progress on it!  Also, some don't seem to be able to find the pattern.......just follow the "download" button.  It's right "there".  I love lacey patterns but are always in knit without looking like "cheap crochet".  Well, THIS pattern is as good as any knitted (since I don't knit.)  LOVE it....Thanks Interweave Crochet!

The download button does not seem to be working!  It takes me to another page that says "Click to download" but it returns the same "index" page.  What is wrong!!!

the download file comes across as "damaged and cannot be repaired" What is wrong with the download? I really love this design.

I love to crochet, but I like the instructions to be written out. I don't like the diagrams.
