This is the christening gown for my third granddaughter.  It was crocheted over several months; after dinner and some weekends , as I was working at the time.  I used Coats 'Opera' 10 cotton thread in 50 gram balls.  Pattern is available at http://www.countryyarns.com/pla001.htm

This is why I am teaching myself to crochet-- So I can (someday) make beautiful things like this.

Dear V_Barnett, You can do it.  I started off with lopsided afghans and worked my way up.  There were miles of pulled out yarn and thread along the way.  It was all a great learning experience and I am still learning.  Hopefully I will always be learning.  Keep up the crocheting; it is good for the soul.

Thank you Carlive for your kind and generous comments.  My granddaughter looked positively beautiful that day and I am glad I could make this for her.

I crocheted this exact pattern 7 yrs ago.  It took me approximately 6 months to complete it.  I did it in white with Ivory flowers.  I think this is one of the most beautiful gowns.  The pattern was easy enough to read, but I wouldn't want to do another.   Thanks for the memories.  ;D in Oklahoma City

Butterfly 1960, you are welcome.  This gown pattern is the most beautiful one I have seen as well and your use of ivory for the roses sounds beautiful!
