Inspired by the colours of Thanksgiving and Christmas both, this block is called Dilly Dahlia and represents the flower of the same name. A series of fptrc gives the illusion of depth and quality to the work.
This is the kind of block I love to work, plenty of variety of stitches and a stunning result. It looks "fun" to do. Would love a whole blanket done with this one!
Really pretty - love all the texture!
I really like the pattern and texture created here...even the workings of the various colors cause the pattern to pop out at you! However, I believe had another choice of colors been used, (differnt yellow /accent color, and even just differnt shades/hues of the red and green, or different colors all together for the red and green) the finshed piece would be even more dramatic and pleasing. Overall, well done! :)
Yes, I know what you are saying and completely agree! Unfortunately, this was made in specific colours for a 'swap' on Ravelry and I didn't have much choice in that. If I were to start over, I would do it in more defined dramatics. I just had 4 people test-crochet it for me, and one gal did it in pinks and lamb and chocolate brown, and it POPS!! I sort of wish I had more time to perfect it. I'll admit to doing this at the last minute...lol. Thank you for your critique. It means a lot to me!
Holiday colors or other colors, this one has a nice balance of geometric shapes and lacey openness. Nice job. I want to do this block!!
Very unique pattern and I love the colour choices.
What a creative square. So perfectly done. I really like this pattern.
I was afraid you be offended at my willingness to pick aprt your design so much-thank you for not being offended. I really like the pattern. :)
Nice job for a last minute design!!!!!!!!!!
