The ubiquitous granny square is one of the first things a crocheter learns and is possibly the easiest skill to teach a beginner. I wanted to figure out a way to create a granny-inspired motif that would be each section of a sweater. Encouraged by the fact that triangles can be joined together to make squares, and squares can be joined together to make sweaters, I created this cardigan with only a few motifs. With an edging of pretty lace columns that are repeated in the sleeve cuffs, and the addition of a hood, this sweater is a stylish addition to any wardrobe. This pattern can be found in Kristin Omdahl's Crochet So Fine.
