St(s) = stitch(es)  Sc = single crochet  Sc2tog = single crochet 2 together  Rnd = round  Rep = repeat

Notes: Do not join rounds, I crochet using the magic circle method you can go to YouTube type Crochet Magic Circle to see a video on how to make this stitch. If you choose you can use the ch 2. Work 6 sc in first ch pattern in place of the Magic Circle.  You can change the color of both the Yarn and the Pipe cleaners.

 BODY: Make (1)
Rnd 1: Begin work by making a Magic Circle with 6 sc. Place marker in first stitch for beginning of round; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2:  2 sc into each sc around (12)
Rnd 3: * Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around (18)

Rnd 4:  * Sc in first next 2 sc, 2 sc in next st, rep from * around (24)
Rnd 5-10:  Sc around. Attach Safety Eyes according to directions use picture as a guide.

Rnd 11: * Sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog, rep from * around (18) Push the pipe cleaners through the middle of the spiders body make sure they are even on both sides. Insert the legs before you stuff or the stuffing will come out with pipe cleaners.

Rnd 12: * Sc in next sc, sc2tog, rep from * around (12) Stuff with fiber fill make sure to push fiber fill past the pipe cleaners that are going through the inside of the Spider to fill the top part.
Rnd 13:  * Sc2tog, rep from * around (6) Stuff some more then fasten off sew closed and weave in ends.

Bend the legs up then shape them like spider legs. Another tip is buy Black tiny pompoms and glue them to the bottom where the legs end for a cute effect.

Great spider. I wish I'd thought of crocheting the body before I made mine out of a styrofoam ball. The crocheted ball would have been much easier to stick the pipe cleaners into. I couldn't find black pipe cleaners, guess I should have looked in September instead of 2 weeks before Halloween. I used white ones and painted them black. I was worried about how they'd look but was glad I'd had to go with that option. The paint stuck the hairs of the pipe cleaners together and made the spider that much spookier.
