It's all about the buttons on Betty's Button-up Mitts. Short-row shaping keeps the wrists snug on these stylish mitts.

Designer Brenda K. B. Anderson
Finished Size: 7" wrist circumference, 8½" hand circumference (buttoned); 7" long.
Yarn: Cascade 220 (100% Peruvian highland wool; 220 yd [200 m]/3½ oz [100 g]): color #9404, 1 skein.
Hook: Size G/6 (4 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions: Yarn needle; eighteen ⅝" vintage looking buttons; matching thread; sewing needle.
Gauge: 16 sts and 15 rows = 4" in st patt.
Skill Level: Easy
