Introduction

The spiderweb hat is a unique design that uses chains to create the desired effect. It is very easy to make and uses very little yarn. A perfect stash buster! It is fun but still looks quite fashionable, and kids love it! Made out of a soft cotton, it’s a great fall or spring hat.

Materials List

1 5 mm (H) hook (for small size) or 1 5.5 mm (I) hook (for large size)

1 skein of worsted weight yarn (Plymouth Yarn Jeannee Aran/Worsted is what’s used in the pictures)

Stitch Markers

Gauge

Since gauge is difficult to measure with the Spider Web Hat because of all the chains, tight crocheters should use the larger hook size and looser crocheters should use the smaller hook size.

Notes

The hat is worked in a spiral. Don’t join rows unless otherwise stated.

The Pattern
