Crochet motifs cinch an open grid pattern that creates a stretchy fabric for a flattering fit. The motifs are repeated at the hem and the Cleopatra neckline.

 

Designer: Dora Ohrenstein

Finished Size: 32½ (35½, 38¾, 42, 48½)" bust circumference. Garment shown measures 35½", modeled with 31⁄2" ease.

Yarn: Valley Yarns Cotton 3/2 (100% mercerized cotton; 1,260 yd [1,152 m]/1 lb [454 g]): #5990 lizard green (MC), 1 (1, 1, 1, 2) cones; #2608 wedgewood blue (CC), 1 cone.

Hook Sizes: D/3 (3.25 mm) and F/5 (3.75 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.

Notions: Four ¾" buttons to match dress color; four smaller buttons to use as backing for buttons; st marker (m); yarn needle; pins; sewing needle and matching thread.

Gauge: 20 sts and 8 rows = 4" in grid patt with larger hook, slightly stretched; 1 motif = 2" square with smaller hook.
