Slinky bamboo yarn makes this easy and addictive crochet stitch pattern shimmer, like a mermaid's scales glistening in the water. The edging, worked perpendicularly and joined to the body as you go, has a scalloped finish that echoes the body of this shrug.

Designer: Kristin Omdahl

Finished Size: 35 (38, 43, 48, 53)" bust circumference. Garment shown measures 35", modeled with 3" ease.

Yarn: Be Sweet Bamboo (100% bamboo; 110 yd [100 m]/1¾ oz [50 g]): #622 silver green, 6 (7, 8, 9, 10) balls.

Hook Size: D/3 (3.25 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.

Notions: Yarn needle.

Gauge: 3 reps = 5"; 8 rows = 3¼" in sh patt, after blocking.
