Introduction
This bag is easy and works up quickly but looks very fancy and very intricate. I love the snapdragon stitch for those reasons and you will as well. This would be a great bag to make for an upcoming Christmas boutique or a gift for a special friend.
Materials List
Less than 1 ball worsted weight yarn; I used Vanna's Choice black.
"J" crochet hook
Vintage button or other embellishment that would serve as a button for a closure.
(Lining material optional)
Finished Size
Finished as done by written instructions: 12" wide X 7 1/2" high, excluding the handles.
Gauge
row of 12 sc = 4".; 4 rows of sc = 2" (approximately)
Note: Gauge is not vitally important for this project.
Notes
Special Stitches:
V-Stitch: 2dc, ch 2, 2dc in same stitch indicated
Shell: 5dc in same ch2 space
beg v-stitch: ch3, dc, ch2, 2dc in same stitch
beg shell: ch3, 4dc in same ch2 space
For each round: All rounds are joined to first stitch with a sl st unless otherwise noted
Leave a 7-10" length of yarn when starting or attaching so there's plenty to weave in. This will give the handles, etc extra strength to hold up under the weight of items being carried when bag is in use.
