This pattern is a simple way of turning your stash into storage!  The pattern is designed to use the stiffness of the post stitches to make a robust basket, which can be made in any size you like.

Materials List

  • 200g dk yarn (or amount needed for your desired size of basket).  You could substiture worsted yarn (see below).
  • 6mm hook.

Finished Size

The example shown is 9inches (23 cm) across and 6.5 inches high (17 cm).  However, you can easily adjust the width and height by working more rounds for the base or extra rounds on the sides.

Gauge is not critcal for this project.

This basket is made crocheting 3 strand of dk yarn held together - you can mix in different colours if you prefer!

Alternatively try 2 strands of worsted weight yarn.

I'll make a couple to hold my WIP when by my recliner in the living room. Maybe then my stash can stay in the craft room. (Yeah right!!) lol
