Introduction

scarfDesigner Tiffany whipped up this scarf for her daughter Laura (see her over there, modeling?). Isn't she adorable? Aren't you inspired to make one up for someone pink you love? Or for someone you love who loves pink?

Materials List

  • One 5 oz. skein Bernat Softee Baby in “Baby Pink Marl” (color 30301), or color of your choice (A)
  • One 1 oz. skein Bernat Eyelash in “Kiss”, or color of your choice (B)
  • “J” (6.0 mm) crochet hook
  • “P” ( 9.0 mm) crochet hook
  • Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.

Finished Size

One size.

Gauge

Gauge is unimportant for this pattern.

The Pattern

With “J” (6.0mm) hook and one strand each of colors (A) and (B) held together, ch 17.

Row 1: In 4th ch from hook, dc; dc in each ch across.

Row 2: Ch 3, turn. Dc in next dc and each dc across, including turning ch. (13 sts)

Rows 3-14: Repeat row 2.

Row 15: ch 3, turn, dc in next dc and each dc across, until turning chain. Work dc in turning chain as follows: (YO, draw through loop [3 loops on hook], YO and draw through 2 loops [ 2 loops on hook], drop 1 strand of (B) and pick up 1 strand of (A), YO and draw through remaining 2 loops on hook).

Row 16: Change to “P” hook; ch 2, turn. Work decrease by working 1 hdc in next two dc; hdc in next 8 sts, work decrease by working 1 hdc in next two dc. (11 stitches)

Row 17: ch 2, turn, hdc in 1st hdc and each hdc across.

pink!Rows 18-28: Repeat row 17.

Row 29: ch 2, turn. Hdc in 1st hdc and each hdc across; change colors as follows (YO, draw through loop [3 loops on hook], drop 1 strand of (A) and pick up 1 strand of (B), pull through to complete the hdc.

Row 30: Change to “J” hook; ch 3, turn. Work dc in 1st hdc, dc in next 9 hdc, 2 dc in next hdc.

Row 31: ch 3, turn. Work dc in next dc and in each dc across, including turning ch (13 sts).

Rows 32-44: Repeat Row 31.

Row 45: Repeat Row 15

Rows 46-58: Repeat Rows 16-28.

Row 59: ch 2, turn. Work hdc in each hdc across, fasten off.

With needle, weave in ends.
