Introduction

I've tried to write down a pattern for this necklace once it was done, (I use to work by sudden inspiration!).
I don't know if it's very clear, but you can make any question if you're confused on the pattern.:)

Hope you'll enjoy!

Materials List

Less than one ball of any colour cotton yarn (worsted weight)

4.00mm hook

Finished Size

You can make more chains for each strand to have it longer.

Gauge

no gauge

The Pattern

Necklace:
Ch77, sc in second ch from hook and in the next 3ch.
Ch76, sc in the 4th ch at the beg of previous ch loop, and in next 3chs, ch1, turn.
Sc in first sc and in next 3 sc, ch80, sc in the 4 sc at the beg of previous row, ch1, turn.
Sc in first sc and in next 3 sc, ch84, sc in the 4 sc at the beg of previous row, ch3 and sl st on the other side of the same closure piece to make a button hole.
Sew a button on the opposite closure piece of the button hole.
Make a flower of any kind (mines are just improvised!) to embellish the necklace, and sew it on the four chains strands.

I like crochet, and loom knitting with provo, also some plastic canvas stitching. My favorite is crocheting using the standard method but also the afgan stitch ot tunisian crocheting as well. Pictures will come when I can get batteries for my camera

Thanks to all of you!!
If someone have problems with the pattern, which is probably not so well written, feel free to ask!

Sorry for this but to me it was easier to make this necklace instead of writing the pattern!:)

I think the pattern is fine. Thanks for writing it. I made one, you can see the picture in the forums FO showoff or on my flickr page.

this is beautiful :-D

on Dec 31, 2009 4:46 PM

if you could maybe unbutton the back and take it off the neck and put it on some plain fabric so it's easier to see how to make, then i could do it. i am trying to make it now and its not working for me.

Hello, I am fairly new to crocheting i began about 2 months ago. And,  I came across this necklace and it is soooooo pretty! i absolutely love it and want to make one, but i am having trouble following the pattern (because i am new to crocheting) and was wondering if you could help me, I'm not quite sure how to put all the chains together to make it like yours, i have tried different ways but i'm just not seeing how to put them together. Thank you!

I have the necklace itself completed just not the flower....

I am stuck partially cause I don't have a lot of experience making flowers on the fly

and cause I like the flower you used!  Is there anyway you could post how to make

that flower?  Or email it to me?  I would very much appreciate it if you can find the time.

I am dying to make this, but am having a really hard time with this pattern....

I got really stuck on the chain, I don't understand how you do it at all. I ended up just making one long chain, with a small flower on one end and a loop on the other end, so I could wrap it round my neck a few times and then loop through the small flower like a button.

Would you be able to explain the chain a bit better, especially this bit:

Sc in first sc and in next 3 sc, ch80, sc in the 4 sc at the beg of previous row, ch1, turn.
Sc in first sc and in next 3 sc, ch84, sc in the 4 sc at the beg of previous row, ch3 and sl st on the other side of the same closure piece to make a button hole.

I don't understand. I've only started crocheting just after Christmas, which could explain why I don't understand, but even my mum, who's been doing it for years, didn't quite understand.

When I saw this I figured it would not be very hard--well, for me, I was wrong. When I get to the "chain 76, sc in the 4th ch at the...." part, I am not sure I am doing it correctly .  It just looks all wrong. Can you help? my email is  pmlbatsem@gmail.com

i have a question. when it says Ch 77,sc in second ch from hook and in the next 3ch, does it mean that you cut the string and make other chains?

This is the second time I'm reading this creative and entertaining article. It’s a real work of art.  The ability to sew the necklace on a four chains strands make it awesome. I enjoyed the post. Thanks

hi,

I just made this necklace and it is beautiful...however I really really love your flower. I tried to find a similar pattern on the net but I couldn't. Would it be possible you post the pattern or email it to me directly?

Thanks

I really like the way you design your necklace, it's a bit complicated but it's really nice. Although its's not made of a diamond but still it looks elegant and cute. it's nice to give as a Christmas gift for a young lady. Keep it up.
